Île Courts-International Short Film Festival in Mauritius
Established in 2007, Île Courts – International Short Film Festival of Mauritius acts as a tool-kit for the development of cinema in Mauritius. Île Courts is runned by the Association Porteurs d'Images, beneficiary of ACPCultures+ Programme, for the project The Archipelago of Cinemas from 2014 to 2016.
Île Courts is meant to be a showcase for a different cinema in Mauritius, and regularly screens movies from Mauritius, the Indian Ocean, and all over the world, taking us on a surprising journey into the heart of contemporary cinema.
Always active in its endeavour, Île Courts also hosts training workshops, debates, roundtables and professional meetings. Through the annual Forum Film Bazar, it has therefore become a place for all film professionals of the Indian Ocean to meet.
Île Courts is a real factory too. The programme Film Fabrik offers Mauritian filmmakers opportunities to successfully lead a film project from scriptwriting to production to distribution. Since 2009, 30 short movies (fiction, animation and documentaries), published in 6 collections, have thus been produced through the festival.
