Director Statement:
It has always irked me that women are the ones laden with a disproportionate amount of the caregiving burden, and that we are often the ones who have to put aside our dreams to do it. Hence, are our 'Ambitions' dulled by this? Though this story was conceived before the pandemic, it was through many national lockdowns then that more severely impacted an increased amount of women all over the world, not only with an increased mental load with having to juggle work and kids at the, but also greater unemployment. Hence, our team, with the top three roles being all helmed by mothers, were frontline witnesses to this unfortunate phenomenon. We hope this film raises greater awareness about the things unseen, whether it is mental conditions, the caregiving burden, or the person we pass by every day but don't notice.
