A peaceful day in Hoffnung City is interrupted by an attack on Central Hospital. Kamal Astana, and his band of underground militants, known as Defects, have destroyed a section of the medical facility and barricaded themselves inside. 

As the Authority closes in on Kamal, his only hope of staying alive is to negotiate his way out. His only collateral is the group of hostages he captured along the way - some medical staff, a security guard and a patient. Can Kamal and his men escape the Authority? Will they find the freedom they seek? Above all, what was his mission in the first place?
