In an attempt at revenge for being vanquished, the mythical Bakunawa has poisoned Philippine politics, ravaging the country with a spate of killings and corruption for the last 6 decades. Despite the destruction, many worship the Bakunawa. The Bakunawa takes different faces, under different administrations, but all are marked by the same violence and oppression. As her country is being destroyed from within, a mother tells the story of the Bakunawa to her child in an attempt to vanquish it the same way their ancestors long ago once did-- revolution; however, the narrative takes a sharp turn when the issues are more than just a tale with a definite end.
