‘Mama’ is a narrative short film that walks us through the unwaning determination and sacrifice of a mother in search for her runaway special needs child. As she journeys through Singapore, she meets conflicting individuals that offer help in her search.

Director Statement: 

"Mama" encapsulates certain events and moments I have witnessed while growing up with my special needs sister. Through this film, I wanted to show the determination of a mother and the fear she faces as she journeys through Singapore in search for her runaway autistic daughter. As we dive deeper into her headspace, the people she meets along the way represent a part of her that wishes her situation will remain as it is, and another part of her that wishes to let go and be selfish for once. Ultimately, this film hopes to spotlight the mental state of caregivers of adults with special needs which is often overlooked by society and even themselves.
