Nganom Tipo is a visual documentary showing the intricate art of mat weaving by the Jama Mapun tribe in Palawan. A master mat weaver from Southern Palawan by the name of Janeth Hanapi leads us to how this magnificent and colorful traditional mat weave is made and how she tries to pass the knowledge to the youth in their community. Janeth made her home in Palawan a venue for gathering, processing and teaching the youth in her community to develop their interest and continue the craft of making the Jama Mapun traditional mat. The film shows the colorful process of how the traditional banig of the Jama Mapun is made from harvesting the pandan plant to weaving the plant and making a colorful representation of their tribe.
