Pogo
After 7 years in prison, Michael returns to his old home with hopes of reconnecting with his son, Ian. Although apprehensive, Maya - his ex-wife - allows him to see Ian for the last time. Michael notices how much the house has changed; a bed now takes the place where the crib used to be and the once empty walls were decorated with drawings. Amongst Ian’s toys, a headpiece of a monkey catches Michael’s eye. Picking it up, he notes the word “Pogo” written on the inside. Ian returns from school and Michael overhears the conversation of the mother-son duo outside and is disappointed to know that Ian doesn’t wish to meet his biological father. In his panic of being discovered, he puts the headpiece on and takes on the persona of his son’s imaginary friend ‘Pogo’. Michael soon finds out that his place in Ian’s life has been taken by someone else and realizes that he’s unfit to reclaim his title as Ian’s father. After putting Ian to sleep for the last time, he takes his leave and thank Maya for letting him fulfill his wish before setting off on his journey to restart his life.
