This film tells the story of a girl who lives in a Javanese community named Ratri. In short, when Ratri was little, Mother gave a message to him not to marry a Sundanese man. That moment continues to be remembered by Ratri until adulthood, even after Mother died. Because of her love for Mother, Ratri upholds that message. Until Ratri was forced to get married because of his sociological factors, and her love for a Sundanese man named Dana. Thus, two conflicting desires emerged within Ratri's mind and made her life full of boredom and loneliness.
