Seed Of Lakapati (Binhi Ni Lakapati)
A comedic story about a banished deity who learns about the essence of the small things while striking an unlikely friendship with a young boy named Buchoy. The story shows that for anything to function properly, there must always be a balance, a harmony, and that no matter how small and unimportant some things may seem it is just as important as the seemingly big and important things. Most people are eager to start big but what they don’t understand about reaching the top is that you have to start from the bottom. Lakapati is a banished deity who enlists the help of Buchoy to redeem its lost power and stature. Buchoy is also the one who makes Lakapati realize that there’s nothing wrong with being small for they make up the big things. The story borrows thoughts from the seven principles of Zen philosophy, most notably ‘Fukinsei’ which is the idea of controlling balance through irregularity, asymmetry, imperfection and differences. It shows the hero’s journey as they learn about the world and the importance of respect and balance.
