Separation (Perpisahan)

In 1969, during the racial riots in Singapore, Siti became pregnant out of wedlock at the age of 17 with her firstborn son, Joshua. Due to this, her father forced her whole family to move to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to start anew. She had to give up her newborn baby and also cope with the recent death of her Chinese lover who died fighting for his life to be together with Siti. She was forced to keep this secret with herself in fear that it will bring shame to her family. She got married at the age of 20 and conceived her second son, Rahman. She tried her best to move on from the traumatising incident, but deep down her past was still haunting her. All she could do was to repent and ask God for forgiveness for her sins.

After 50 years of settling in Malaysia, she receives her confirmation letter to go for her pilgrimage (Umrah) to the Holy Land but before doing so, she must find true repentance by giving up sin and asking for forgiveness for those she had done wrong especially her long lost son, Joshua. Due to this, Siti is forced to face her dark past and the consequences of being a rebellious and mischievous teenager. She soon embarks on a journey to Singapore to find him, hoping that her second son, Rahman, who is accompanying her, would understand her intentions. She faces obstacles along the way with Rahman but after knowing Rahman’s secret she realised that finding her firstborn son gave her the opportunity to strengthen her relationship with Rahman. This story tells a captivating tale of a woman’s journey in facing her past and discovering the true meaning of family, forgiveness and self-acceptance. Just like the saying goes, “every saint has a past and every sinner has a future.”
