The Effeminate (Wandu)
Wandu depicts three transsexual women struggling to gain recognition within society. Sani (35), Kemmy (28) and Ayu (29) experience many injustices that do not recognise their human rights.
Sani is mistreated in the restrooms of a shopping mall.
Ayu has trouble changing her gender identity on official records, due to bureaucracy, condescending officials, and official documents incompatible with her request.
Kemmy dies in her parent's home, and nobody wishes to bathe her body as needed, including her mother (Lastri), brother (Suryo) and fellow villagers.
