Ratih, Salamun's granddaughter, was chatting with her friend in the living room, telling her about her friend's anxiety about the stigma of relationships nowadays. Salamun, an 83 year old retired TNI AD colonel, approached Ratih and told her grandson about his youth. Salamun told him about his childhood, how he met Putri (wife), what happened when he was a soldier, went on a secret mission, took part in the confrontation between Indonesia and Malaysia, until the first time Putri suffered from elephantiasis and dementia. In the middle of telling the story, Salamun gave advice and opinions regarding marriage relationships.
