As his parents left a long time ago, the boy lives with his uncle, who is a tailor. In a peaceful village in Southern Vietnam, their house is simple yet cosy. However, the innocent boy cannot ignore the heartless gossips about his uncle’s life from practically everyone else. At the same time, considering his nephew a kid, the uncle cannot give him a reasonable explanation or excuse for his questions either. The boy blames himself and decides to find a solution that he believes will give his uncle a better life. Yet his decision only leads them to even more tragic circumstances.

The film is full of emotions, typical of the folklore of Southern Vietnam. It also triggers much thinking about social prejudice and lack of empathy for human beings who are different.
