As Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm comes to the end of it's 24 year run on HBO, check out this bizarre short from Matthew Bauer (The Other Fellow 2022). Starring Robert Altman's longtime collaborator Allan Nicholls (Nashville, A Wedding, Popeye, A Perfect Couple, Hair Original Broadway Cast) the film was shot in improvisational "Borat" style on location at the Singapore Television Awards.

Tells of a family in deep isolation because of their authoritarian nature, especially toward their boy. The boy listens to his parents because there he gets a perfectly adequate facility but not the accepted attitude; the parents' attitude toward the boy is cruel and authoritarian if the boy dares to break his father's rule. Until one day, he is trapped between running away and enjoying himself in the house.

A man comes to a rooftop to reflect on his life. Then a mysterious younger man appears. Both of them share the same journey and fate.

Why do I have to wait for the green light so long? I see the exhaust fumes warming the planet and three minutes have already passed. I see a tree standing in a square in Indonesia. The seeds of this plant are highly poisonous and were used as a chemical weapon during the war. Prisoners of the Japanese army were forced to extract the oil from these seeds. The oil was used as fuel in the past. It was called “Blue Energy”.

BOOKANIMA, a compound word of ‘Book’ and ‘Anima’, is Experimental Animation to give new cinematic life to book. Once known as Seletar Hot Spring, it dates back to 1909 when it was discovered and subsequently a well was built to supply villagers around. It was also used as a recreational thermal bath during the Japanese occupation. Today, the land is a part of Sembawang Air Base, but the site segregated and made accessible to the public.

Dated back to the 19th Century, Fort Pasir Panjang was one of the coastal artillery forts built by the British to defend the western passageway into Keppel Harbour against piracy and foreign naval powers. It played a significant role in the defence of Singapore during World War II and earlier period of time. In the 1942 Battle of Pasir Panjang, the fort supported the Malay Regiments against the Japanese at Bukit Chandu. Today, it is a popular heritage site and park, attracting visitors interested in exploring many historical relics and natural artefacts.

Completed in 1908, the Central Fire Station has a watchtower and living quarters for firemen. It was the first centralised facility for firefighters in Singapore. Today, it retains its iconic red and white architecture, where modern facilities are used in tandem within the old facade.

A non-linear story of Raman, a 19-year-old blind man who has moved to a new city with his sister after the death of their father. One day, Raman sits in a park singing. His imaginative power takes him to new places to discover new meanings of life.

A girl has been locked in a white room, lying in a bed, for so long that she has amassed a large number of red ties all over her body. Iris begins her routine anew each time she awakens. Once accustomed to it, she wakes up with several ties around her body, washes her face, dresses nicely, and makes the bed, all while confined to the locked room.It's not until one day, while cleaning her room, that Iris stumbles upon a typewriter. She feels a powerful sensation while using it, and this newfound feeling lingers even after she falls asleep. In her dream, she witnesses women being dictated to, and upon awakening, she feels frustrated and enraged, scribbling on her typewriter, 'I shouldn't be dictated to.' She doesn't know where these thoughts come from, but guilt is evident in her eyes.After finishing typing, she resumes her tasks, but various voices begin to echo around her. She wonders where these voices are coming from and discovers they emanate from beyond her walls. The voices mimic her actions, triggering Iris. To calm herself, she drinks water, closes her eyes, and panics, eventually falling asleep, feeling weak and gasping for air.Upon waking, Iris finds herself in the field where she used to escape, surrounded by people without faces who order her to perform her routine. Lost and overwhelmed, she starts running as the voices fade. That's when she notices a girl staring at her. Iris starts whispering to the little girl, and the young girl looks at the camera with a determined expression. Zooming in on her eyes reveals a heart vase filled with vibrant flowers.
